Gaël Le Maître est né à Saint Nazaire en 1978 après ses études à l’École Supérieure des Arts décoratifs de Strasbourg, il démarre sa carrière comme graphiste freelance en 2005 dans l’Agence Punk Paris.​

​En 2007, il rejoint Philippe Apeloig pour une aventure typographique des plus formatrices et enrichissantes. Après cette collaboration de deux ans il décide de travailler seul avec pour philosophie «simple et vibrant» et comme marque de fabrique un travail typographique propre et dynamique.​

En 2011 il se lance dans un projet personnel intitulé «Raskenn» pour faire vivre ses recherches graphiques et ses créations typographiques sur des supports vestimentaires. En 2012 après trois ans de collaboration avec la scénographe Clémence Farrell, le musée du Titanic à Cherbourg voit le jour et avec lui l’envie d’occuper typographiquement l’espace et la rue.​

​In 2007, he joins Philippe Apeloig for a typographic adventure as enriching as instructive. After this two-year collaboration, he decides to work by himself following the philosophy «simple and vibrant», and producing a clean and dynamic style of typographic work. ​​

​​In 2011, he embarks in a personal project entitled «Raskenn» with the idea of animating his graphic research, and typographic creations, on clothing supports. In 2012, after a three-years collaboration with the scenographer Clémence Farrell, the Musée du Titanic in Cherbourg sees the light of day, and with it, the desire to occupy typographically public and private spaces.
